England’s Max Charlton will captain a three-player England squad against Argentina for the Olympic Trophy at Chestertons Polo In The Park on 6 June 2025. Playing a compressed style of outdoor polo, this International Test Match is played on grass off outdoor handicaps, but with only three players to a team and using some arena rules including the change of ends after each chukka. The full teams will be announced shortly so stay tuned for news!
England and Argentina last faced each other for this trophy in 2022, when the visitors sneaked to a victory in a run down after a 4-4 draw. After Argentina’s triumph in the Coronation Cup in 2024, England will be looking to settle the score at Hurlingham Park. Max Charlton is no stranger to this match, with recent wins against Ireland in 2023 and the USA in 2024.
The event marks a historic occasion as the Hurlingham Polo Association celebrates 150 years since the first official polo rules were published in 1875, making this an unmissable event for polo fans.
