To join the HPA or renew your membership, click the button below to access our online membership portal, Sport80. If you have never previously had an HPA membership, create a new account to begin. If you have previously been a HPA member, please log into your existing account; do not create a new account else it will not have any of your previous membership or handicap information linked to it.

You will need a valid handicap to purchase a full playing membership – you can see this on the handicap tab under your name when you are logged in. If your handicap has lapsed, it means you have not had full membership for a year or more, and you will need to submit a CV Form to receive a valid handicap before you can purchase full membership. We also require a CV Form if you have a handicap elsewhere in the world but you have not played in the UK before.

If you have never held a handicap anywhere in the world and wish to purchase full membership, please contact your club and ask for the information you require to take the Rules Test. Once you have passed the Rules Test you will be able to log in and purchase full membership, and you will be awarded your first handicap, which will usually be -2.

Once you have purchased your membership it will show as ‘Pending Approval’. This means it is waiting to be approved by your selected club, not the HPA. You must have the equivalent membership with your selected club for them to approve your HPA membership.

To upgrade from Chukka & Umpire to Full membership, please select ‘Current’ next to your chukka membership and then select ‘change membership type’. You can only do this if you have a valid handicap – you may need to submit a CV Form or take the Rules Test to get your handicap.

If you have a valid outdoor membership you are eligible for a free equivalent arena membership called an ‘Arena Season Add-On’. You must apply for it through the platform before you play in the arena, following the same process as applying for an outdoor membership.
