Teams revealed for England v Argentina on Arena Polo International Day

The teams that will play on Arena Polo International Day have been confirmed. On 18 January 2025, England will face Argentina for the 15th running of the Bryan Morrison Trophy at the iconic All England Polo Club, Hickstead, for an unmissable day of arena action.

England captain Jack Hyde made his Bryan Morrison debut in 2014 against the USA, and has played in the three most recent runnings in this match, winning in 2022 and 2023 before England were narrowly pipped by Ireland in an extra chukka in 2024. Matias Amaya played alongside Jack in 2023 and 2024, and has played many matches in a team with England newcomer Grant Collett; together they won the 2024 Surrey Hills Winter Trophy on their way to the Arena VL 12 Goal series title for Ojo Caliente.

The opening match of the day will be a competitive Junior match featuring some of England’s rising stars.

Hurlingham captain Archie Heseltine played in this match last year, and steps up to captain here in 2025 following a successful 2024 season that included a winning Young England debut in the Buckmaster Trophy and victory in the Colts Cup as part of the HPA Performance Pathway. He will be joined by newcomers Jacob Watson and Henry Oliver, while his Colts Cup teammate Lucas Stern will captain the opposing Ranelagh team alongside Bruno Bradshaw and Leo Stuart, also making their Arena International Day debut this year.

This will be the first time Argentina have played for the Bryan Morrison Trophy, and they undoubtedly field a strong side to take on England. England have enjoyed enormous success in this match, but were pipped to the win in 2024 when the match against Ireland came down to an extra chukka. The iconic Hickstead arena lets spectators get up close and personal with the action, so make sure you join us to cheer on your favourite players.

The day will kick off with the British Juniors match at 11.45, showcasing our exciting up-and-coming young players. Many of our international players got their start in Junior polo, so this is a fantastic opportunity to spot the stars of the future.
