The HPA are delighted to announce that Peter Wright has been appointed as Chief Umpire for the 2025 season. The Chief Umpire oversees the umpire arrangements for the HPA and will take the lead on professional umpire appointments along with umpire development and assessments.
Peter is one of the world’s most respected umpires, with many years’ experience umpiring at every level. With many prestigious high goal and international matches under his belt, Peter was also the first non-Argentine umpire to be invited to officiate the Argentine Triple Crown, which included umpiring the final of the Argentine Open in 2014. He brings a wealth of experience to the role and we are excited to see how he will help the HPA to develop umpiring over the coming season.
