The Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) is delighted to announce Hurlingham Polo 1875 as the headline sponsor for the prestigious Coronation Cup, now officially titled The Hurlingham Polo 1875 International Day for the Coronation Cup.
With Hurlingham Polo 1875 as the title sponsor, this world class day to be held at Guards Polo Club on Saturday 23rd July is one of the stand-out social events of the summer. Inspired by polo’s heritage and with its roots firmly grounded in the sport, Hurlingham Polo 1875 is a clothing brand that represents polo’s authentically British and absolutely international values, making it the perfect partner for one of the oldest and most revered polo games in history. At the time, marking the end of the high goal polo season, the Coronation Cup was inaugurated in 1911 to honour the coronation of King George V, Grandfather of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Anna Hall, who took on the role of CEO at the HPA earlier this year, is excited about developing and growing the iconic event. “We are delighted that Hurlingham Polo 1875 is the headline sponsor for the International Day for the Coronation Cup as this is truly the perfect match for the day that will showcase the full range that British polo has to offer: from Pony Club, youth polo, University polo to world-class International polo. Hurlingham Polo 1875 is the only brand developed to directly support the development and future of British polo.”
In addition to providing the team shirts for both England and Uruguay, Hurlingham Polo 1875 will have a significant presence at the event, along with high profile advertising in the coming weeks. Commenting on the sponsorship, Simon Hawkins, CEO of Hurlingham Polo 1875 said: “Our announcement today represents the next chapter on our exciting journey. We are confident that working closely with the Hurlingham Polo Association we will help raise awareness of, and participation in, the game of polo alongside the growth of the lifestyle brand. Through design, creativity and innovation, we will continue to position the sport of polo, and its British heritage, at the heart of everything we do. We will always be aligned to our core value of authenticity.”
