We are delighted to advise you of the details of the forthcoming Hurlingham Polo International Day for the Coronation Cup. It will be held on 23rd July 2022 at Guards Polo Club, Windsor. We are asking Clubs not to play polo on this day and to come out in support of this event for the HPA and our invaluable sponsors.
The Event
Gates will open at 10.30am in time for the final of the Colts Cup (u17s) at 11am followed by the final of the Stagshead trophy (u14s) at 12.15pm. There will be entertainment on the Queens Ground from 1.30pm, including some Pony Club polo, some dog fun and a military band. The main event, the Coronation Cup, will commence at 3.30pm and will likely see a highly competitive 24 to 26 goal match between England and Uruguay, England captained by James Harper and Uruguay captained by Pelon Stirling.
You are permitted to bring food and drink to the event, but there will be a food festival area which will provide you with any food and drink you might need. Sundowner drinks served with a chilled vibe will be available in the Clubhouse from 6pm.
Members’ Grandstand Seating
Allocated seats in the prestigious Clubhouse Grandstand are available for HPA members at the cost of £30 per ticket for the member and 1 guest and £40 for further guests. All those requiring seats will require a ticket. Car parking is free, but please request a car parking pass so that Guards Polo Club can keep track of the number of cars on site and they can direct you to the most appropriate car park. Please advise Guards of your membership number when placing your booking.
HPA Club Mini Marquees
In addition, exclusive to HPA Polo Clubs, you can purchase one (or more if required) of 15 mini-marquees on the far side which come with 20 admission tickets for this area at £600. This 20 does not include children under 12 as they are not required to have a ticket. This works out at £30 per ticket admission – if you need to collect this from individual members attending and you don’t have a mechanism set up to do this, you might want to consider using an online collection system (e.g. www.collectionpot.com) to make your life easier.
Please advise Guards the number of car passes required when purchasing a marquee space. These are small 3m x 3m covered marquees with space to one side. Cars can be brought alongside to allow you to drop off any refreshments they wish to provide and/or seating on arrival before being parked in one of the car parks. Clubs are able to include the name of their club on and around their marquee facing away from the Queens Ground so that their guests know which is their marquee but we kindly ask that the name of any sponsors is not included. We encourage clubs to come along to support the day, as well as invite any of their key sponsors and supporters along to enjoy the polo.
