Junior Teams for the Cowdray Victor Futurum Tournament

Follwing the success of the first Victor Futurum tournament, the Guards Next Generation Challenge, we’re excited to reveal the teams selected for the second and final tournament in the 2025 series, the Cowdray Next Generation Challenge. This new Under 16s initiative is designed to spotlight the rising stars of polo and opens the door for young talent to connect and develop in a fun and supportive environment, following the introduction of age and handicap limits for Victor Ludorum tournaments from 2025.

We’re delighted to have received such positive feedback from the first tournament, with new connections and friendships being forged between young players and their families; we’re already seeing these connections blossom in new teams around the country.

The Next Generation Cowdray Challenge will run alongside the Gold Cup with play dates of Sunday 29^th June, Sunday 6^th July, and Sunday 13^th July. Details and timings are available on Lineup – download today to stay up-to-date.

In each tournament, all teams will play each other and will play off the stick, placing the emphasis on participation, connection, and enjoyment over intense competition.  There will be a league for each tournament, with the winners decided based on points and awarded after the final game. It’s an ideal environment for players to grow, gain confidence, and experience high-quality polo in a supportive atmosphere.

Cowdray Next Generation Challenge Teams

The teams for the Cowdray Challenge have been selected from some of the brightest stars in the UK for the 2025 season and offer a look ahead to the future of the sport. The teams for 2025 have been named after the oldest surviving, continuous polo clubs in England, India, Argentina, and the USA in a nod to polo’s history in our historic 150th year. The Cowdray teams see many new players step forward, so if you’re visiting Cowdray this summer, be sure to go along and show your support!
