We are sad to say goodbye to Lucy Lewis who retires at the end of this month and who has been at the core of HPA for over 22 years. Her work and efforts have shaped the HPA as it is today, working side by side with David Woodd. We wish her a happy and well-deserved retirement.
The roles that Lucy did at the HPA have been split, and so we will be bringing on a new Operations Manager, Karen Irving. She will be picking up HPA governance and meetings, health and safety, office management, data protection, risk management as well as HPA dinners/ mini marquee. Karen Irving joins the HPA where she was Events and Merchandise Manager for the British Horse Society and prior to that was Senior Executive supporting the CEO of BHS. Karen has played polo and it seems coming to the HPA may be starting to re-kindle that passion! We will also have a freelance bookkeeper, Gina Bartlett, who will be working part-time to support the HPA. Gina is a qualified accountant and has most recently worked as a Manager at Azets in Newbury specialising in Equine Services.
In addition, from next Monday, Caroline Keen will assume the job title of Equine and Coaching Manager and Lucinda (Looby) Robinson will assume the job title of Sports Manager. It should be noted that Looby recently married and so has changed her surname from Wright to Robinson.
We welcome these new additions to the HPA team!
