The match was played in ideal conditions. Hot with a light breeze.
Flannels’ Captain, Nina Clarkin got off to a flying start and three goals were scored in the first chukka. New Zealand were always there but could not quite “make it” between the posts.

The game was an outstanding exhibition from the leading female player in the world, Nina Clarkin. She is a pleasure to watch. To a spectator it appears that Nina is actually a complete part of her pony. Gliding along with such beautiful control.

Over the 5 chukka match, New Zealand managed to score1 goal but in reality they were never a match for their English opposition. The final score being 6 goals to 1. It was an exciting game to watch, with New Zealand having their opportunities but just never quite capturing them.
